The award was made on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Torrance Memorial Hospital in the presence of Aileen’s family, Towne Park teammates of her father, and client managers. Towne Park Regional, District and local leaders from throughout the Western Group also attended the event.
The Sun District is extremely proud to announce Leah Atkinson has been named the 2015 Valentine Memorial Scholarship recipient. Leah was notified on a pseudo-conference call, after stressing and preparing for a week under the masquerade of a follow up interview. She did not find this charade as funny as leadership thought, but loved the idea of it!
Sam Skidmore, 2014 Valentine Memorial Scholarship recipient, wasn’t dreaming, he was planning, when he said “…this scholarship will actually allow me to be able to save money for my pilot license.” Having a pilot license makes perfect sense to propel the career of our Georgia State of Technology, Aerospace and Aeronautical major. Sam has been parking cars for Towne Park in Atlanta since 2012 and we are convinced after parking cars …parking aircraft, rotorcraft and spacecraft is a natural next step for our community focused Ga. Tech senior.
David is attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and is pursuing a four-year degree in Business Administration. In 10 years, David plans to be working in an administration department of a hospital. In his application, David stated “I want to be able to help people and families get through their unfortunate situations of having someone who struggles with Autism…I want to be able to pull communities together to help lead people in the right direction on this issue.” He ended his future goals section with “My goal is to make living with Autism a little easier.”
