2016: Scott Coffin

By January 30, 2018Past Scholar

The San Diego District is extremely proud to have Scott Coffin named the 2016 Valentine Memorial Scholarship recipient. Scott was notified just before a GSC meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd, where he was pleasantly surprised to find Towne Park’s Regional and District leaders in a meeting room with beautiful hors d’oeuvres. He was very happy to see the support from Towne Park and his peers.

Scott does everything that is asked of him in true Towne Park fashion, not just at his home site the Laguna Cliffs Marriott, but wherever there is a need. He is well trained, can adapt to anything, and has an incredibly upbeat personality–no doubt from his many years of service as an active marine. His ability to lead by example is evident every time he steps onto the drive. Scott’s leadership mentality is something that everyone should strive for.  A fellow GSC, Blair Darr, “Scott, well, he’s the man. He can take anything that is thrown at him with a smile on his face. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we trust his leadership and his ability to handle even the busiest of days. He’s absolutely a role model.”

Scott plans to attend ASU’s WP Carey School of Business. He will earn his degree while supporting his wife Celina and his children Jaden, Izzabella, Grace, James, and Miles. Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and also enjoys hunting and fishing with any opportunity he gets.
